Winterbourne Steepleton Manor, Dorset

This was the first building project carried out by Acheson for Altogether Care Ltd and, due to our performance, other projects have now followed. The project required a sympathetic restoration and improvement to Steepleton Manor during full occupancy.

Work comprised the renovation and restoration of the building and a carefully programmed and sensitive approach was required ensuring minimum disruption to the occupants of Steepleton Manor. The impressive main entrance staircase was adapted and refurbished to meet current building regulation standards. The work also involved the conversion of an existing stable block into accommodation.

Steepleton Manor is a listed building and all original features had to be retained. However, the challenges including carrying out work to a listed and occupied building were successfully overcome and the project was completed on time, within budget and to the complete satisfaction of our client.

Acheson has had a great deal of experience in the care home sector including refurbishment and extension projects and design and build new care home facilities.
