This fantastic mixed-use development across 5 storeys, involved the design and construction of an 180-bed hotel, 4 ground floor retail units occupied by Majestic Wines, Crêpeaffaire, Magnet & Terzetto, and 6 upper floor duplex apartments. It sits on the former Gordon House site along Banbury Road in Summertown, one of the main roads in Oxford’s Town Centre.
The building was designed with its location in mind, and uses quality materials to suit its surroundings. All infrastructure, external works and drainage were also included as part of this exciting project including rear parking and EV charging points. Due to its location, careful planning and consideration of neighbouring homes and business was essential throughout the project.
To demonstrate our commitment to the Considerate Constructors Scheme, at an early stage in the project, the site team welcomed pupils from the neighbouring Summer Field’s School where they gave a talk about the project and the construction industry. The pupils had been particularly interested in the machinery appearing on site and were very excited to be given a demonstration of the 360 excavator used by demolition contractor J Mould.
easyHotel officially opened their doors to welcome their first guests on Wednesday 24th November 2021.
