Acheson lands prestigious contract at the Tank Museum, Bovington

Acheson are delighted to receive instructions from The Board of Trustees of The Tank Museum, Bovington to complete the £2.4m extension of the Vehicle Conservation Centre.  The extension will provide a six-bay workshop, machining room, storage space for spare parts, and associated staff facilities.  This will enable the Museum to keep its running vehicle fleet operational and to present the vehicles in the Historic Museum Collection in an authentic manner in keeping with their significance.

The facility will have a 25 tonnes overhead crane which will operate over the full width of four of the six bays.  All six bays will have exhaust extraction which allows the TM to run engines in the workshop and provide a safe and clean environment for the staff.  Compressed air is provided throughout the workshop to support projects.

The project is due to commence in September 2017 after the busy Tankfest shows and will open in the spring of 2018 in readiness for the start of the visitor season.
