Nick Cuffe on the judging panel CIOB Novus Bright Futures Student Challenge
Acheson Construction were proud sponsors of the CIOB Novus Bright Futures Student Challenge that took place at Solent University last night.
The theme of this years challenge was ‘A Hospital in Time’ where the student teams came up with a design,concept, and layout of a new hospital to pitch to the mayor and his officials.
Their models were judged on a set of requirements and on the following topics;
• Practicality of Design
• Futureproofing
• Sustainability
• Building Climate
• Site Logistics
• People/Community Interaction
Construction Manager Nick Cuffe was on the judging panel and was impressed by the standard of entries from all participants.
Nick had this to say - ‘’It was a real honour to be part of the judging panel. These events showcase what a great industry we are all apart of and encourages young people to fulfil their aspirations within the Construction Industry.’’

Student challenges such as this are a wonderful way of fuelling creativity and attracting the next generation of Construction workers to our industry.
