Following a devastating fire, The Trustees of Maiden Street Methodist Church embarked on the rebuilding of a modern state of the art place of worship and community hub facility. The nature of the project funding meant that cost control throughout the project was crucial. Through regular reporting and cost projections we worked in tandem with the project cost consultants to ensure the project was delivered within budget.
The complex steel framed main hall complete with glulam roof structure provided a welcoming space for the congregation, overlooked by a stunning gallery seating area. The project brief was to create a community hub and the design incorporated a small chapel, common meeting rooms, conference room, junior church area and cafe. The complexities of building usage meant a well-designed building services installation was required and a basement was constructed to provide a dedicated plant room.
We received a civic award from Weymouth & Portland Civic Society in recognition of the quality of construction. Over the years, we have carried out church restoration work as well as the construction of new vicarages.
