This scheme presented issues and challenges that involved the relocation of two GP Practices into one building together with provision of Community Healthcare services, a Midwifery Unit and Pharmacy.
The development is a key building within the Duchy's Poundbury Village Development commanding a prominent position overlooking the playing fields and cricket pitch within the development. Given the specific architectural design requirements of the Duchy, the interior layout of the building was designed by KMB Ltd who specialise in healthcare projects, whilst the exterior was designed by Working Group one of the approved Duchy Architects. The completed building provides a mix of state of the art modern healthcare facilities with a traditional heritage architectural appearance.
The scheme was officially opened by the then, Prince of Wales before he became King Charles III.
