Acheson continues to meet the requirements for accreditation against the Investors in People National Standard.
Following a detailed inspection by UKCES we are pleased to announce that Acheson continues to meet the requirements for accreditation against the IIP national standards. The inspector summarised the result of the inspection as follows: -
“I am delighted to confirm that the requirements for IIP accreditation are still evident at Acheson. Directors maintain a very positive approach to managing staff and are committed to ensuring that effective people management is in place across the company. It is fantastic to hear from people the pride they feel in the growth of the company. Turnover has increased in the last year and orders are strong for 2016. Directors are discussing plans to structure the company under two geographical areas which may result in another office base in Hampshire. Delivery of projects and managing sub-contractor resource has been a priority over the last eighteen months but there remains a good culture of support within the staff team. People have a commitment to their role, confidence in the leadership of the company and a desire to contribute to its success.
The main strengths identified at this assessment visit are:
- Evidence of a more inclusive and consultative approach to decision making leading to an increased level of empowerment and engagement for people in all roles;
- The open and approachable style of Directors which involves openness in sharing information about contracts and business performance;
- The confidence staff have in the long-term future of the company and the leadership of Directors;
- The extent to which people feel valued for their contribution to the business. The feedback from everyone I interviewed was generally positive (see employee feedback below).
- Feedback emphasised the pride people have in working for Acheson and the enthusiasm they feel for the future.”
