Tomorrows Museum for Dorset update

Acheson are proud to be delivering ‘Tomorrows Museum for Dorset’, the major redevelopment project for the Grade II-listed Dorset County Museum in Dorchester.

The site team are progressing very well with the programme and this week saw JFY Construction commence the 2nd slab pour to the basement area using waterproof concrete.  They will complete the 3rd and final pour over the coming week. Further works happening next week are from Woodmace who will start the reinforcement for the basement walls, and Spectrum Electrical and Watertite Heating will start the M&E works in the existing buildings.

Once complete in 2020, this project will greatly benefit the museum in preserving our precious heritage, and their vision for the site to be ‘transformed into a leading, contemporary culture and heritage centre’ will be realised.
